Tusitiri Dhow can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests overnight, and 25 guests for day excursions.
Tusitiri Dhow is booked on an exclusive use basis only – for one group of guests at a time. The Dhow is exclusively yours.
Rates start from $4,140 per night for up to 6 people for exclusive use of Tusitiri Dhow. Additional guests are charged on a per person basis. Different rates apply for day trips. Please contact us for further information and a detailed quote.

Child rates apply to those aged 5 to 15 years inclusive. Those aged 16 years and above are charged an adult rate. Children under 5 stay for free, however given the nature of a live-aboard dhow, safari guests should contact Tusitiri Management before they book if they are considering bringing children under 5 on a Tusitiri safari.

Tusitiri Dhow is available for full or half day excursions in Lamu, including sailing and meals. Contact us for more information and rates.
Tusitiri is ideally suited for families with many activities and adventures on offer for all ages. However, given the nature of a live aboard dhow, please contact Tusitiri management before you book if you wish to bring children under 5 years of age.
Tusitiri Dhow is managed by Mia and Kirsty Miji. The experienced crew includes eight Bajuni sailors, a chef and a waiter.
As Tusitiri is a small and exclusive dhow, catering for all dietary requirements is possible. Food allergies and dietary requests should be arranged prior to arrival. Delicious, fresh seafood is sourced locally and prepared daily, and seafood is the main cuisine.
Tusitiri Dhow operates all year around with the exception of the rainy season from May – July, when Tusitiri is closed for maintenance. Tusitiri does not typically run safaris at this time, however, with adequate notice we are happy to discuss potential bookings in this season.
Being on the equator and at the coast, the weather is generally very warm, but usually with a refreshing sea breeze. The hottest months of the year in Lamu are November – February.
Lamu Island is easily accessed by air. Guests fly to Lamu’s Manda airport by daily schedule flights from Nairobi (1.5 hour flight) and other select domestic airports, or by private charter flights. On arrival, guests are collected by speedboat from the airport for the short transfer to Tusitiri on her mooring.
Guests should seek professional medical advice before travelling including advice regarding malaria prophylactics, recommended vaccinations and the relevant travel and medical insurance.
Gratuities are welcomed and greatly appreciated; please speak to the dhow managers for advice and procedures.
Tusitiri has power from solar panels and a back-up generator. There is a power bank for charging electronic items.
